A: We don’t recommend using the Shotgun seat on bikes without front suspension as there is insufficient clearance between the front wheel and your child's feet when turning the front wheel
A: The shotgun seat isn’t suitable for use on E-bikes. If you’re riding an E-bike check out the Shotgun Pro
A: The shotgun seat contacts the frame in 5 places, each one of these locations has full rubber-moulded frame protection. Sharing the load across these locations helps to minimise the clamping force required, and the rubber protection means your frame is safe from damage or scratching.
A: The shotgun seat fits all mountain bikes, even those with steep or sloping top tubes. If the seat is slipping back, then remove the saddle, the foot-pegs and the quick release – and be sure to firmly clamp the top at the same time as tightening the bolt inside the seat-post. You'll only need to do this when you first setup the shotgun seat, see 0:30 in our installation video. If you're still having trouble, we recommend inserting the quick release into the top slot (rather than further down) as this helps to add more tension, stopping the seat from slipping back.
A: If the saddle is twisting left and right, but the bolts that tighten the saddle itself are firmly tightened – it will actually be the silver seat post that is rotating. To fix this, remove the saddle, the foot-pegs and the quick release – and then ensure you firmly clamp the top at the same time as tightening the bolt inside the seat-post. You'll only need to do this when you first setup the shotgun seat, see 0:32 in our installation video above.

Such a great buy!
My son is a very cautious kid, but he loves his shotgun seat! He asks me every day to get on "his seat" on dad's bike. He feels safe being in front of me, and is always ready to hit the trails and "go fast"! We love this, it will keep getting a lot of use.
My husband ordered the shotgun seat but when it arrived he still wasnt back from work for another 2 weeks. I was keen to try it, so had a go at installing it myself. It was actually really easy! Then I took it for a ride with our 3 year old daughter and she loved it. I was worried that riding would be hard if she was too in the way, but no - it was easy and comfortable to ride with her on the shotgun seat. We will be going on lots of family rides now for sure!
The seat installed easily on my Trek Dual Sport + 2, and 16-month-old is technically too young for it but LOVES going for the short rides around the block that we've done so far. Physically he seems comfortable and has an easy time balancing on the seat, and I love having him in front of me, but since this set-up relies on him keeping his attention forward and his feet on the pegs, he definitely needs to mature a little bit before he really graduates from the rear baby carrier seat.
A perfect case study of expert product design. Simple, elegant and functional - this is the type of product which makes you say "why couldn't I have come up with that!" However, the ear to ear grin on my daughters face as we were going down bumpy tracks and dodging trees was the real acid test, and this passed with flying colours!
