Wow - what a great bike. We've loved all Kids Ride Shotgun products since we first invested in the original seat which has been well used by both our boys. Our youngest shredder has just got his hands (feet?) on the new 14" Dirt Hero. He absolutely loves it and it only arrived today. You can already tell the difference compared to other balance bikes - more sturdy, better quality, great chunky wheels. A well-thought-out product and worth every penny. He's delighted and therefore we are delighted too.

Out the box, the quality is outstanding. You can tell this was carefully designed by passionate MTB riders who are also (probably) parents as well. Everything from the seat height (for smaller 2 year olds) to through-axle hubs...you can't ask for more.

The paint is great and looks like it can hold up to toddlers thrashing it around. The three color skins for decal application is a nice touch. That alone was enough to convince me to buy a second one for my 3 year old (14" wheel kit). Can't fight over the same bike if its all the same!

Packaging was immaculate. Since the wheelset was separate from the frame, it arrived in two boxes; both small enough and light enough for my kiddos to pick up and bring inside the house to unpack. They felt pretty empowered helping with assembly, which took less than 20 mins. Immediate success. My daughter took off and really enjoyed the bike. It's super light for a balance bike and the geometry is "too cool for school" compared to the countless other brands of balance bikes.

Quality product coming from the depths of Middle-earth...I mean, New Zealand. Thanks for keeping my kids off screens and outside where kids can be kids!

Louise really loves her Dirt Hero Bike!

We were not sure if she really still needs it as she‘s pedaling already, BUUT: it‘s great!

Crazy wheels, really nice brakes - ready for a ride in the BikePark this spring! And most important for Louise: the pink unicorn sticker on the frame!;)

Having a 4 year old that is bike mad is awesome. But there’s not a great deal of pedal bikes that are easy to pedal on the trails for their little legs. So I was stoked when Kids Ride Shotgun reached out and asked if we could put the Dirt Hero to the test ahead of it launching .

Everything I needed to assemble the bike comes in the box. The tools are great quality and I’ve actually put them in my spares box for re-use. The instructions are simple to follow leaving nothing to question. The whole process of unbox to riding took around 15 mins.

The build quality of the frame at first glance is amazing. What was even more amazing was how light the bike is! Harry can carry the bike himself with ease and it makes pushing up hill a breeze. The Magura disc brakes are easy to reach and provide reliable stopping power without being difficult to apply. The grippy 14” tyres kept us rubber side down providing a form of suspension to absorb bumps and rocks. We did countless laps of our local flow track without crashes or over-tired meltdowns!

Overall the Dirt Hero ticks all of the boxes for what you want out of a balance bike. It’s lightweight, disc brakes provide a safe way to stop and the riding position positions the weight close to the centre for great balance. Being able to start off at 12” then upgrade wheels to the 14” will see this bike being ridden upwards of 3 years! 10/10

well balanced and versatile. works great for both my daughters 1.5 and 4 years old. I think I'll be using it until the eldest one is 6 roughly. the foot rest also works really well exspecially to really understand the power and control of the breaks.
