As the dust settles on Crankworx Whistler 2019, here are 5 cool things (for MTB kids) we noticed whilst wandering around the event.
One thing's for sure, the mountain bike industry is placing more focus on the kids end of the market than ever before, which is exciting stuff for the next generation of rippers.
1. New Norco's
This year Norco have overhauled their kids range. The new fluid's are looking slick and have some chunkier rubber. The 20" is a burnt orange (no more fluro orange) and the the 24" is blue / grey colour and seems to have a baby-eagle type setup (eaglet?)
2. Fast House
It seems like everyone at Whistler is wearing Fast House gear this year. Their moto-inspired apparel is a refreshing change from the standard Fox and Troy Lee fare. There was nothing kid specific at the event, but you can bet it's coming.
3. 26" Ain't Dead
Giant has shown their commitment to the 26" wheel size with their new 2020 Trance Junior. The guys from Giant mentioned the bike also takes 24" wheels – perfect if your little shredder is on the smaller side to begin with.
4. Kids E-MTB's
Ok, so this isn't exactly brand new, but it's still super cool. This Commencal Meta HT Power 24" e-bike certainly looks the part – but as if MTB parents around the globe don't have enough trouble keeping up already!
5. Shotgun Canada Launch
Where obviously a little excited about this one! The shotgun seat is now available across Canada for MTB parents. We're excited about helping Canadian MTB Moms and Dads hit the trails with their little ones.

The future for mountain bike kids is bright, and the highlights above are just a fraction of what was on show at the event – not to mention all the kids ripping the bike park faster than the adults. We're already looking forward to next year.
ps – special mention to the guys from Spawn Cycles too, they had some sweet new kids bikes on display also – but my photography skills let me down!
